Atmel® Corporation announced the company’s maXTouch® controllers have been designed into more than 30 Windows® 8 touch-enabled products ranging from tablets to Ultrabooks and notebook PCs.

As a co-engineering collaborator with Microsoft, Atmel has helped develop high-performance touchscreen specifications for Windows 8 including first-touch latency, finger separation and support for up to 10 simultaneous touches including edge gestures.

Almost all of the 30 plus Windows 8 projects powered by Atmel maXTouch controllers will hit the market by the end of this year. These touch-enabled devices are developed by Microsoft and other leading worldwide device manufacturers.
