The EU Commission published amendment Directive (EU) 2015/863 in the Official Journal which amended annex II of RoHS 2.0 (2011/65/EU) with four phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP) in the list of restricted substances on 4 June 2015. So far, EU RoHS 2.0 Directive has a restriction of 10 hazardous substances. The Directive shall enter into force on June 24th, 2015. Member States shall adopt and publish the laws, regulations and administrative provisions to comply with Directive (EU) 2015/863 by 31st December 2016.

1. The Directive specified detailed implemention due date of the four new sustances for different electrical and electronic equipments.

• Electrical & electronic equipment (Category 1 to 7, Category 10 and 11) within the scope of RoHS 2.0 shall apply from 22 July 2019 .
• Category 8 (medical devices, including in vitro medical devices) and Category 9 (monitoring and control instruments, including industrial monitoring and control instruments) shall apply from 22 July 2021.

2. The restriction of DEHP, DBP and BBP shall not apply to toys which are already subject to the restriction of DEHP, DBP and BBP through entry 51 of Annex XVII to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006
